IGF-1 LR3 — Research Overview
4 min read · Updated 2026-07-24
IGF-1 LR3 is a modified insulin-like growth factor analogue used as a stable reference compound in cellular-growth and signalling research. This overview covers what it is.
What IGF-1 LR3 is
IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 Insulin-like Growth Factor-1) is an engineered analogue of IGF-1. Two modifications distinguish it: an arginine substitution at position 3 and an added N-terminal extension, which together reduce its binding to IGF-binding proteins and increase its stability in solution — useful properties for controlled laboratory research.
At East Coast Labs, IGF-1 LR3 is supplied lyophilised with an independently published Certificate of Analysis per batch.
Areas of scientific research interest
Published literature has explored IGF-1 and its analogues in experimental models related to:
- Cellular growth, proliferation and differentiation research
- Insulin-like growth factor receptor signalling studies
- Metabolic and regenerative research models
- Growth-factor binding-protein interaction studies
It is included in our Longevity & Cellular collection alongside other cellular-research compounds.
These describe research contexts only, not efficacy claims. IGF-1 LR3 is not approved for therapeutic use and is not supplied for human or animal consumption.
Physical & handling properties
- Format: lyophilised white powder
- Class: modified insulin-like growth factor analogue
- Reconstitution: dissolve gently in bacteriostatic water; avoid shaking
- Storage: refrigerate lyophilised and reconstituted vials; avoid repeated freeze-thaw (storage guide)
Purity and verification
Because it is an engineered analogue, confirming identity by mass spectrometry matters as much as purity — you want the correct modified sequence, not standard IGF-1. Both are reported on the batch Certificate of Analysis, independently tested and published before listing, verifiable by batch number. See How Peptide Purity Is Tested.
Supplied strictly for laboratory research use only. Not for human or animal consumption. We do not provide dosing or administration guidance.
